services: browser & platform testing

TFG works to make web sites as technically compatible and visually similar as possible for all browsers, platforms, and screen resolutions. Some differences are inevitable, but site design will be optimized to achieve as much of a consistent look as possible. Web site design is necessarily fluid and user overrides often change the appearance of web pages.

TFG currently tests web site pages in the following browser/platform combinations:
  • XP: IE 7.0, Firefox 2.0
  • Win2k: IE 6.0, Netscape 7.1, Mozilla 1.7.12, Firefox 2.0.0.6, Opera 9.2.2
  • Mac OS X: Netscape 7.2, Safari
  • Unix/Solaris 8: Konqueror 3, 1.9.8, Mozilla 1.4 (by request only)

Note: IE 7 to be added to this list soon!

TFG Monitor Resolution Development Defaults:
  • 1024 x 768 screen resolution
  • 24-bit color depth

Lowest Common Denominator usage stats for the majority of end users are currently:
  • 6.x+ Browser (90%)
  • 1024 x 768 screen resolution (85%)
  • 24-bit color depth (88%)

TFG can develop for any size screen resolution on request.

*Browser compatibility testing/debugging for Unix platforms only upon request.
TFG no longers supports Netscape 4.x, any browser on Mac OS 9.2.2, or IE versions below 6.0 on any platform.

**Browser/resolution stats courtesty of Browser News. Numbers represent trends, not absolutes. Percentages represent numbers of users.

how will a web site help my business?

As of August, 2005, it is estimated that 68% of adult Americans (137 million) access the Internet or the World Wide Web.
— Pew Internet and American Life Project
  • More than eight out of ten US Internet users have researched a product or service online.
  • Despite the burst of the dot-com bubble in 2000, e-purchasing continues to expand. In all, the number of people who had made purchases online grew by 63% since 2000.

This means that millions of potential customers are available to you with an online presence. Posting a web site is one of the most cost effective ways to reach a large market base, offering the option for small businesses to go national or even global. If you care about your bottom line, you need a web site.

Even if your business is not e-commerce related, having a web site gives you a “global brochure” that is accessible by far more people than you could reach in your local area of business. Very simply, it vastly increases your visibility, directly impacting your bottom line. And well designed web sites can be cost effectively updated to incorporate new information as your business changes and expands.

At Take Flight Graphics, we design web sites that work for your business, increasing your bottom line, expanding your customer base, and generating visibility.
